Student Council

Get Involved...Make a Difference!

Why Get Involved?

Joining student council is a fun way to get involved with your school. And it's a great way to make friends and meet new people - improving school issues will definitely get you noticed around the hallways. More importantly, if you have a school complaint, whether it's about class sizes or teacher availability, then you can help to bring about a change by taking a stance and standing up for students' rights. Getting involved gives you the opportunity to improve issues and make Two Roads a better place.

How Do I Get Involved?

Elections are held a few weeks after school begins each August, so just choose a position and run for it! During your campaign, put up posters and make nomination speeches. This is the time to put your best face forward and show your classmates why they should vote for you!

Positions

  • President - Supervises student body activities and runs council meetings.
  • Vice-President - Assists the class president and fills in when the president is unavailable.
  • Secretary - Keeps accurate records of meetings and student body activity schedules.
  • Treasurer - Keeps track of student body funds.
  • Grade-level Representatives - Brings the perspective and wishes of their class to the Council.

If you're passionate about politics, focused on a career in the government or just want to help make a difference, then get involved. It will look great on your college application and resume, and show your future employers that you can take initiative, whether it's improving the cafeteria food or buying more balls for P.E. class.
